Object notes
Material, surface and intention.
This piece is built around warmth, rhythm and proportion.
The Palisander displays a lively grain that moves between honeyed brown, deeper amber and dark linear markings. Rather than forcing the material into perfect visual uniformity, the form allows those variations to remain fully visible, giving the body and cap a natural sense of movement.
The silhouette is gently shaped, with subtle tapering and rounded transitions that soften the presence of the gold-plated fittings. Metal and wood meet without visual tension: the polished gold introduces light, while the darker grain keeps the object grounded and tactile.
Finished by hand with Renaissance Wax, the surface retains the natural warmth of the timber and a direct connection to its texture. The finish protects without disguising, allowing the grain to remain the central element of the piece.
The result is a writing instrument with a calm, assured presence: classical in proportion, expressive in material, and deliberately restrained in detail.
