This fountain pen is handcrafted from Kamagong Ebony (Diospyros blancoi), a dense and deeply toned hardwood known for its dark character, subtle brown undertones and quiet, mineral-like presence. Its silhouette is intentionally atypical: the cylindrical body is interrupted by squared terminal forms, creating a shape that feels closer to a small architectural object than to a conventional writing instrument.
What first appears unusual becomes meaningful in use. The cubical end acts as a natural counterweight, shifting the balance of the pen and allowing the nib to move with remarkable ease across the page. The result is a writing experience that feels lighter than the object suggests, calm in the hand and unexpectedly refined.
The pen is fitted with a gold-plated Bock No. 6 nib, paired with satin metal accents that contrast with the dark Kamagong Ebony body. Rather than hiding its asymmetry, this piece embraces it, turning proportion, weight and tactility into part of its identity.
